James Traficant's error
wasn't committing fraud and taking money. His error was doing it old style.
While other politicians had moved up to sophisticated methods including campaign
donations, speaking fees, book advances and other hidden ways, Traficant stayed true to
his suitcase full of cash roots.
Look at the Government that is kicking him out. The top cop in our land Ashcroft is
so popular when he ran for the senate, he lost to a dead man. Our president, who did
not win the majority of votes, is scared to pass tough corporate crime laws because the
vice president, ground hog Cheney, will have to go to jail. Our vice president did
an advertisement for Arthur Anderson where he expressed how happy he was with their
creative accounting. He now only makes money raising appearances and the pops back
down his hole for 6 more days of running the secret government.
Congress is no better. They didn't kick him out because he committed a crime, they
would all be out on the street if that was the issue. They kicked him out because he got
caught.
The FBI and US courts wanted him so bad, they refused him witnesses, made deals with men
who committed more serious crimes for their testimony and as one witness now admits,
goaded false testimony out of their witnesses.
The man was one of the few things right about congress, as down to earth and as simple as
the tax code he championed. He didn't dress up ideas and issues in a million miles
of BS, he spoke plainly, simply and with more honesty than congress will see in the next
100 years.
